TAKE ACTION FOR HUMAN RIGHTS

Tell President Biden: CLOSE GUANTÁNAMO

The military detention facility at Guantánamo Bay is a glaring, longstanding stain on the human rights record of the United States. Today, it continues to hold 27 Muslim men, most without facing charges or a trial. Many, like Toffiq al-Bihani, were tortured by the U.S. government. And Toffiq, along with 14 other detainees, has long been cleared for transfer to other countries... yet he remains behind bars without charge or trial.

President Biden said recently: "I’m the first president of this century to report to the American people that the United States is not at war anywhere in the world." The denial of basic human rights to detainees at Guantanamo was always unlawful under international law, and the president's statement confirms that there is no legal authority to continue to detain indefinitely 30 men without trial. President Biden has a critical window of opportunity to end the ongoing abuses at Guantanamo by closing the detention center before the end of his term.

Help us close Guantánamo and ensure the transfer of all cleared detainees to countries where their human rights will be respected.

Act Now to tell President Biden to shut down the Guantánamo Bay detention facility!

Your action will be sent immediately to the office of the White House.
