Tell Your Lawmakers: Last Chance to Stand Up for Afghans
This is a *critical* moment to ensure that tens of thousands of Afghans find real, lasting safety in the U.S: We need to urge Congress to pass the Afghan Adjustment Act to establish a roadmap to citizenship for Afghans seeking safety in the U.S., and expand humanitarian pathways out of Afghanistan.
In the midst of the chaotic withdrawal from Afghanistan last August, the U.S. welcomed tens of thousands of at-risk Afghans via humanitarian parole, a status that is typically granted for only one or two years.
Now, many of them only have 10 months left until they lose their status and face possible deportation back to Afghanistan. If families are forcibly returned to Afghanistan, they will face oppression, violence, and retribution for leaving.
Congress CAN help Afghans in need — but they need to hear from us to take appropriate action.
Send your letter to your lawmakers to urge them to pass the Afghan Adjustment Act by the end of the year and ensure that our new neighbors can find stability, opportunity, and community in the U.S.
(Take a moment to customize your letter — the more personalized it is, the more likely your demands will be heard!)
