HELP FREE LOCKED UP AND BEATEN JOURNALIST
Journalism is a dangerous career in Myanmar — the country ranks third worst in the world in terms of journalist jailings, according to the Committee to Protect Journalists.
One of those jailed is photojournalist Sai Zaw, who has been sentenced to 20 years in prison with hard labor — simply for doing his job. He has endured beatings, solitary confinement, and inhumane prison conditions.
Sai Zaw is a dedicated journalist, son, and friend who loves movies, football, vintage cameras, and spending time with his cats. Myanmar’s military is trying to silence him — just as it has silenced hundreds of other journalists since the country’s military coup almost five years ago.
No one should ever face prison for reporting the facts. Add your name now to demand that Myanmar’s military immediately and unconditionally release Sai Zaw.
