TAKE ACTION FOR HUMAN RIGHTS
Tell your local leaders: protect asylum seekers!
Over the past year, we’ve seen growing attacks on people seeking asylum in the U.S. From rhetoric about an “invasion” and Biden’s asylum ban to Governor Abbott placing buoys and razor wire into the Rio Grande. Seeking asylum is a human right, and people and families fleeing harm and persecution should be treated with dignity and respect.
Despite growing attacks on the right to seek asylum, communities around the country are mobilizing to welcome people seeking safety. From volunteers greeting buses of migrants sent to northern cities by the Governors of Arizona and Texas, to communities coming together to provide housing for families, there is a growing movement of welcome sweeping cities and towns across the U.S.
We’re calling on local leaders across the country to #ChooseWelcome and show their support for welcoming asylum seekers. Communities coming together to welcome people to their state or town benefits both asylum seekers and their new communities. Sign now to urge your local leaders to sign the #ChooseWelcome pledge!
