HELP STOP THE BLOODSHED IN SUDAN

The catastrophe unfolding in Sudan is the world's largest humanitarian crisis — tens of thousands of people have been killed and over 12 million forcibly displaced, with nowhere to turn. Half of all children in Sudan — over 14 million — need humanitarian aid just to survive.

We cannot look away. Our leaders have a responsibility to act to protect civilians.

Tell your members of Congress to: (1) Enforce the arms embargo on Darfur; (2) Demand an immediate end to Sudan’s Rapid Support Forces’ (RSF) attacks on civilians; (3) Push the RSF to allow humanitarian access and safe passage for civilians trying to flee the violence.

I write with deep concern about the recent developments in Sudan. Since the conflict began in April 2023, the fighting between warring parties has displaced over 12 million people and claimed tens of thousands of lives.

The humanitarian crisis in El Fasher, North Darfur, Sudan, is escalating, where Rapid Support Forces (RSF) have launched brutal attacks on civilians and civilian infrastructure.

These actions follow an 18-month siege and have now intensified following the RSF’s claim of control over parts of the city and the withdrawal of the Sudan Armed Forces (SAF) on October 27.

With so many lives at stake, I urge you, in your Congressional oversight role, to take decisive action to protect civilians in Sudan.
 
Specifically, I ask that you call on the Trump Administration to act to save lives by condemning RSF attacks, enforcing the arms embargos in Darfur and ensuring humanitarian access to El Fasher, as well as pursuing international accountability for war crimes.

Approximately 260,000 civilians remain trapped in El Fasher, including many who were previously displaced by violence in Darfur. The RSF has a documented history of ethnically targeted violence, massacres, and sexual violence against non-Arab communities, including the Masalit. These atrocities echo the horrors of Darfur two decades ago and demand immediate attention.

The situation in El Fasher represents a critical inflection point that could lead to even greater loss of life if swift action is not taken.

Please take swift action to help prevent further atrocities in Sudan.
