URGENT: ASYLUM-SEEKERS IN DANGER
The Biden administration announced it will finally terminate the unlawful Title 42 policy that has been misused for over two years during the COVID-19 pandemic to forcibly send people in search of safety, including pregnant people and families, away to face danger in Mexico or to the very country they fled from.
But a group of lawmakers appealing to fear-mongering and xenophobia is trying to keep Title 42 expulsions in place, and going so far as to leverage critical U.S. funds for public health and safety from COVID-19 to continue to deny people at the border the human right to seek asylum.
Congress just got back in session and can vote any day now to keep this unlawful policy in place. They need to hear from you NOW, before it’s too late. Call your Senators and let them know: Title 42 must unequivocally and irrevocably end.

Your Call Script
Hello, my name is [name] and I’m a constituent from [city, state].
I’m calling to let Senator [name] know I welcome the CDC’s decision to end the unlawful and inhumane Title 42 policy and am deeply disturbed to see new proposals by members of Congress attempting to undermine CDC guidance and keep Title 42 in place.
I urge you to oppose any amendments or legislation meant to keep Title 42 in place and block access to asylum. Lawmakers who consider themselves champions of racial justice and allies to immigrant communities should not align themselves with a policy that subverts U.S. and international law and punishes Black, Brown, Indigenous, and LGBT people in search of safety.
DHS has a comprehensive, whole-of-government plan and strategy, including capacity and resources, to ensure an orderly process at the border when lifting Title 42. Furthermore, advocates across the country and communities at the border are ready for an end to Title 42 and to welcome people fleeing violence and conflict.
I urge Senator [name] to stand by them, asylum-seekers, and the human right to seek asylum.
Thank you for your time.
