Join the call for President Obama to halt the Dakota Access Pipeline

Send an email to President Obama urging him to halt construction of the Dakota Access Pipeline and respect the human rights of Indigenous people, including the right to peaceful protest.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers should conduct an Environmental Impact Statement, including consultation with the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe about the environmental and cultural impacts of the pipeline. The government should also seek the Tribe’s free, prior and informed consent before moving forward with construction regardless of the outcome of the Environmental Impact Statement.

Furthermore, the Department of Justice should investigate allegations of human rights violations by law enforcement against Indigenous communities and others opposed to the pipeline.
