Protect Human Rights at Standing Rock

Amnesty International is deeply concerned about how police in North Dakota have treated Indigenous community members and their allies opposing the Dakota Access Pipeline. News reports and our observers have documented disproportionate militarization and use of force by police in violation of the human rights to peaceful protest. The situation may become even more dire in the wake of President-elect Donald Trump’s stated intention in his first 100 days in office of lifting restrictions on the construction of pipelines. Call on North Dakota police to respect the human rights of all those opposing the Dakota Access Pipeline.
