Having supported the UN Human Rights Council's unanimous endorsement of the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights and the subsequent call for the adoption of National Action Plans, the US Government plays a key role in the promotion of this new norm.
Now as other governments develop their own National Action Plans, the US risks falling behind the curve. As many corporate abusers are headquartered in the US, it is doubly important that the US work to develop a strategy to implement the UN Guiding Principles.
