Ethiopian journalist Eskinder Nega is behind bars for his work criticizing the government and speaking out about Ethiopians' need to struggle peacefully for freedom. In response, the authorities charged Eskinder with "high treason" and terrorism related offenses. In July 2012, he was sentenced to 18 years in prison.
